Bulldogs were bred in the United Kingdom since the beginning of the 19th century. Over time, some smaller individuals, weighing no more than 11 kg, started appearing. Due to the Industrial Revolution, workers from Nottingham started migrating to Normandy, France, taking miniature Bulldogs with them.
