In the 1950s and 1960s, many internationally renowned filmmakers were attracted to Cinecittà. This period in the life of the studio was called "Hollywood on the Tiber".

On July 24, 2014, Cinecittà World, a theme park dedicated to cinema and television, was inaugurated. The park is located on the site of the former Dinocittà film studio, built in the 1960s.

Some of the studio buildings have been transformed into attractions and show venues. Inside the park, visitors can immerse themselves in the sets of old movies, be transported into virtual reality, visit old movie sets or enjoy more classic amusement park elements such as roller coasters, car rides and playgrounds.

The park will also feature themed restaurants and souvenir shops. In 2019, Cinecittà World opened a waterpark.
